This project consisted of choosing an inanimate object. Me and my partner chose Post-it notes, and you had to develop a visual story of 15 shots about that object. It was required to include an establishing shot, a long shot, two medium shots, two close-ups, an extreme close-up, a POV, a high angle, and a low angle; the other shots were optional. You then had to put the images together in a PowerPoint and label the images with the shot type or angle. To create this story, my partner and I first created a story line and studied how we wanted to represent it shot with different angles or frames. On a piece of paper, we drew what we wanted the story to look like, and after that, we started deciding where we were going to take each picture and how. We decided to add more than one human character to make the story more reasonable. Every picture was taken in the classroom and school hallway. What I would improve from this project would be studying more about angles and shot frames because some of the pictures of the storyboarding are not correct; for example, the over-the-shoulder shot wasn’t taken with the correct frame. Another mistake I made was that I confused a medium shot with a close-up, and finally I didn’t specify whose POV it was. For my next project, I would definitely spend more time taking better-quality and correctly framed pictures, and lastly, I would study more shots and frames. Overall, I think my partner and I created a great story line with deep meaning.
